Abbott’s Mill is located in Milford and one of the few remaining water-powered mills in the state. Milling was a major part in Delaware. Anywhere that it was possible, a mill existed because grains such as wheat and corn were the main crops. There is a Nature Center behind the mill buildings, so you can also disvover the area around the mill.

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge
Originally Native Americans lived there, but one day they gave the land to a Dutch settler Peter Bayard in 1679. It was then know as “Bompties Hoeck” – or “Little Tree Point.” In 1937 the government saved 12,000 acres for native animal species. Now there is a Visitor Centre and you can experience the wildlife by walking on one of many walking trails.
